Del Tea Party y otras cosas - About Tea Party and more

  Vivir en los EEUU nunca ha sido mi sueño y menos aún ahora que la situación política y social de los vecinos del norte se ha vuelto cada vez más complicada. Siempre he pensado que las comodidades y el bienestar económico no son necesariamente sinónimo de bienestar o desarrollo social, se puede ser un pájaro en jaula de oro, infeliz; así viven muchos norteamericanos, todo el día trabajando para pagar su hipoteca, su automóvil, la colegiatura de sus hijos, el próximo viaje a Cancún y un largo etcétera; sin poder disfrutar realmente lo que obtienen, sin poder pasar un tiempo de calidad con su familia, comiendo chatarra por las prisas aunque pudieran comer algo mejor.

  Frecuentemente he pensado que la sociedad norteamericana, en general y con sus brillantes excepciones, es  como un gran burro de oro: muy ignorantes pero con mucho dinero. Y no lo digo con o por odio sino con la esperanza de hacer reflexionar a mis conciudadanos del mundo. Apenas es creíble que en una sociedad con tan desarrolladas ciencia y tecnología, con un facilitado acceso a los medios masivos de comunicación, y con una larga historia de lucha por los derechos y libertades civiles sea también una sociedad que censura la Teoría evolutiva en las escuelas, que fomenta los actos racistas desde la imposición de leyes estatales claramente injustas, que privilegia los intereses empresariales por encima de los ciudadanos, que permite grupos de odio como el Tea Party, el Ku-Kux-Klan y los grupos provida. Y así podría continuar ennumerando todo lo que me llega a decepcionar ya no sorprender, del tío Sam.

  Cuando todas estas cosas cambien, la historia no sólo de los EEUU sino del mundo va a cambiar  para bien. De eso estoy seguro.

  I never have the American Dream in my mind and less still now the political and social situation of the North´s neighbors has become more and more complicated. I have always thought that the comforts and the economic well-being are not necessarily synonymous of social development, it´s possible to be a bird in gold cage, poor devil; thus many North Americans, all the day live working to pay their mortgage, their automobile, the college of their children, the next trip to Cancun and a long list of others; without being able to really enjoy what they obtain, without being able to pass a time of quality with its family, eating junk food by the haste although they could eat something better.

  Frequently I have thought that the North American society, generally and with its shining exceptions, is like a great gold donkey: very ignorant but with a lot of money. And I don´t say it with or by hatred but with the hope making reflect to my fellow citizens of the world. It is hardly credible that in a society with so developed science and technology, a facilitated access to mass media, and with one releases history of fight by the rights and civil liberties are also a society that censures The Evolution Theory in the schools, that foments the racist acts from the imposition of clearly unjust state laws, that privileges the enterprise interests over the citizens, who allow groups of hatred like the Tea Party, the Ku-Kux-Klan and the prolife groups. And thus I could continue enumerating everything what it gets to me to disappoint no longer to surprise, of the Sam uncle.

  When all these things change, the history not only of the USA but of the world is going to change for good. Of that I am sure.
